This classic Belgian Dubbel presents a rich, malty landscape with a deep reddish-copper hue. The sensory experience is led by aromas of caramelized sugar and toasted bread, intricately woven with expressive esters of dried plum and raisin. Subtle peppery phenols provide a spicy counterpoint to the malt-forward foundation, characteristic of the style's monastic heritage. On the palate, the sweetness of dark stone fruits is balanced by a restrained bitterness, leading to a surprisingly dry and clean finish. At 6.8% ABV, a soft, perfumy warmth complements the smooth, medium-full body, resulting in a complex and harmonious Monastic Ale.

Appearance. Deep copper to dark amber with reddish highlights; generally clear with a large, dense, long-lasting creamy off-white head and significant lacing.

Taste. Initial malty richness featuring flavors of caramel and toast. Medium-low bitterness allows the malt and yeast-derived dark fruit esters of plum and raisin to dominate. Low spicy phenols add complexity. The finish is moderately dry with a lingering malty and spicy aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth texture. Medium-high carbonation provides a lively feel that lightens the palate. Includes a low, soft alcohol warmth without any harshness.
