This Dunkles Bock pays homage to the Dutch Bokkenpootje cookie, blending traditional German lager craftsmanship with decadent confectionery notes. Deep Munich and Vienna malts provide a robust foundation of toasted bread and rich Maillard products. The profile is elevated by a distinct presence of sweet almond and smooth milk chocolate, weaving through a tapestry of full-bodied caramel. Despite the dessert-like inspiration, the beer maintains its lager integrity with a clean fermentation and a gentle bitterness that prevents a cloying finish. It concludes with a lingering nutty warmth, balancing the malt-sweet character with a refined, smooth, and robust drinkability.

Appearance. Deep brown color (SRM 20) with brilliant clarity and prominent garnet highlights. Topped by a large, creamy, and persistent off-white head with excellent lacing.

Aroma. High intensity of rich, bready-malty aromas featuring toasty Maillard products and deep caramel. Distinctive accents of sweet almond and dark chocolate complement the clean lager profile, with a very low hint of dark fruit and no perceptible hop aroma.

Taste. A complex, rich malt-forward entry dominated by toasty bread and dark caramel. The influence of the cookie-inspired profile manifests as mid-palate almond and smooth chocolate. Hop bitterness is low, providing just enough support to balance the malty sweetness without becoming cloying. Finishes with a lingering nutty malt character and a clean, well-attenuated fermentation profile.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full, robust body with a smooth, creamy texture. Carbonation is moderately low, contributing to a soft palate. Features a gentle alcohol warmth that is well-integrated and never harsh.
