This formidable Imperial Stout presents a masterful synthesis of massive roasted malts and refined barrel character. Having spent nearly a year in Jameson barrels, the beer exudes a sophisticated Irish whiskey profile, layering notes of smooth vanilla, toasted oak, and honeyed grain over a bedrock of bittersweet chocolate and espresso. The 13% alcohol by volume provides a significant yet integrated warmth that complements the deep dark fruit esters of plum and raisin. Every sip of this viscous brew reveals the brewer's intent for a harmonious, slow-sipping experience where the charred grain bitterness perfectly balances the decadent, barrel-derived sweetness and spirit-forward complexity.

Appearance. Opaque and jet black (40+ SRM). It features a thick, deep tan head with moderate retention and creamy lacing. Due to the high alcohol content and viscosity, prominent legs are visible when the glass is swirled.

Aroma. High intensity with a rich blend of roasted coffee, bittersweet chocolate, and black licorice. The Irish whiskey barrel aging contributes significant notes of vanilla, caramel, and toasted oak. Low dark fruit esters of prune and raisin are present, along with a smooth, spirit-like alcohol aroma.

Taste. The initial impression is a complex mix of burnt grain and dark cocoa. Firm bitterness (estimated 60-80 IBU) provides a structural backbone against a rich malt sweetness. Flavors of espresso and toasted bread meld with barrel-derived vanilla and wood tannins. The finish is long and warming with a lingering vinous quality and a touch of caramel.

Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied, chewy, and luscious with a velvety texture. Carbonation is low to moderate. A distinct, smooth alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated, avoiding any harsh or solventy character.
