This American Barleywine presents an indulgent sensory profile where traditional hop-forward intensity meets decadent specialty additions. A rich foundation of toasty malt and light caramel supports assertive resinous and citrusy hop notes characteristic of the style. The inclusion of coffee introduces a deep, roasted depth that counters the intense sweetness, while amaretto contributes a distinctive almond and marzipan character. At nearly ten percent alcohol, it offers a significant, smooth warmth. The interplay between aggressive bitterness and the lush, nutty sweetness creates a contemplative sipping experience that finishes with a lingering, rich complexity and a velvety, full-bodied presence.

Appearance. Deep copper to mahogany (15–18 SRM) with brilliant clarity and distinct ruby highlights. Pours with a moderately low, creamy tan head that displays persistent lacing and visible legs upon swirling.

Aroma. High intensity with a complex layering of dark caramel and bready malt richness. Assertive resinous and citrusy hop aromas are intertwined with roasted coffee beans and a sweet, nutty almond fragrance. Low stone fruit esters and a noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth round out the bouquet.

Taste. Bold initial impression of sweet caramel and toasty malt, immediately followed by aggressive hop bitterness. Prominent flavors of nutty amaretto and marzipan blend with a secondary layer of dark-roasted coffee. Hop flavors of pine and grapefruit zest persist through the mid-palate. The finish is full and lingering, balancing a decadent malty sweetness with a firm, clean bitterness.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and chewy with a velvety, luscious texture. Carbonation is moderate, providing enough lift to maintain balance. Significant, smooth alcohol warmth is present without being harsh or solventy.
