This Imperial Stout offers an opulent sensory experience, refined by twelve months of maturation in Jack Daniels barrels. On the palate, a velvety texture carries deep flavors of molasses and charred grain, complemented by dark fruit notes of plum and raisin. The 11% ABV manifests as a smooth, integrated warmth rather than a sharp heat, culminating in a lingering finish of cocoa and woody tannins. Appearance. Jet black and opaque (SRM 40). Topped with a dense, deep tan head with moderate retention; high viscosity is evident via visible legs on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity with a complex blend of roasted coffee, bittersweet chocolate, and dark fruit esters like prunes and raisins. The barrel aging contributes distinct notes of vanilla, toasted oak, and a smooth bourbon spirit character.
Taste. Intense initial impression of dark chocolate and espresso. Malt flavors provide a backbone of caramel and burnt grain, balanced by a moderate bitterness. The finish is long and warming with lingering notes of cocoa, oak, and whiskey.
