This New England-style Double IPA presents an explosive aromatic profile driven by a complex blend of Riwaka, Motueka, Citra, and Maui Nelson Hop Kief. It opens with intense notes of zesty lime, crushed passionfruit, and bright gooseberry, underpinned by a signature Citra citrus punch. The addition of Nelson Hop Kief amplifies the distinctive white wine and tropical diesel character. Despite its 7.5% ABV, it remains remarkably smooth, balancing a soft, pillowy malt backbone with a clean, restrained bitterness. The finish is saturated with hop oils, offering a lingering medley of stone fruit and resinous tropical sweetness without any harsh astringency.
Appearance. Gold to light orange-copper (7-9 SRM). Dense, moderate-sized white head with excellent persistence and heavy lacing. Opaque haze with a soft, glowing turbidity.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma. Pronounced tropical notes of passionfruit and guava combined with sharp lime zest and crushed gooseberry. Supportive light grapefruit and orange citrus. Background malt is low and neutral, providing a soft bready foundation with a light fruity ester profile and no noticeable solvent alcohol.
Taste. Leading with intense tropical and citrus hop flavors including lime, white grape, and mango. The bitterness is moderately high but soft and rounded, lacking any bite. Low, clean, supportive malt character with a slightly doughy sweetness. The finish is medium-dry and saturated with lingering hop resins and stone fruit esters.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, creamy texture. Moderate carbonation provides a gentle lift. Very low, well-integrated alcohol warmth. Lacks hop-derived astringency, resulting in a soft and pillowy palate sensation.
