Set Break is a vibrant Hazy IPA that defines the juicy New England style with an intense Double Dry Hopped character. The aromatic profile is dominated by a tropical fruit medley and bright lime zest, driven by the expressive combination of Citra and Mosaic hops. As the liquid hits the palate, Motueka contributes a distinct citrus punch alongside notes of sweet berry juice. The malt provides a soft, bready foundation that supports the massive hop saturation without overshadowing it. This beer offers a smooth, plush mouthfeel and a restrained bitterness, culminating in a refreshing, fruit-forward finish that highlights its modern hop origins.
Appearance. Straw to deep gold (4-6 SRM) with a significant, opaque haze and a luminous shine. Supports a dense, rocky, meringue-like white head with high retention and thick lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring a complex tropical fruit medley of mango and pineapple. Distinctive notes of lime zest and sweet berry juice are prominent. Background malt is neutral and bready with a light graininess; fermentation is clean with no clashing esters.
Taste. High fruity hop flavor mirroring the aroma with lime, passion fruit, and mixed berries. Malt flavor is low to medium, providing a soft, bready backbone. Perceived bitterness is low to medium-mild and very smooth, balancing an off-dry finish. The aftertaste is clean and highlights lingering tropical juice notes without any hop harshness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy, and smooth texture. Carbonation is moderate. Alcohol warmth is very light and well-integrated. Entirely free of astringency or raw grain harshness.
