Jitterbug! is a vibrant New England style Double IPA that explodes with a saturated sensory profile driven by its specific hop selection. This collaboration with Run & Hide Brewing utilizes a precise combination of Waimea, Huell Melon, Amarillo Cryo, and Mosaic to deliver a high-intensity experience. The palate is defined by a complex fruit basket, featuring zesty pomelo and sweet tangerine notes from the Amarillo and Waimea, alongside the signature honeydew melon of Huell Melon and ripe strawberries from the Mosaic. At 8% ABV, the beer remains remarkably smooth, supported by a soft malt backbone that allows the juicy fruit character to lead into a clean, slightly resinous finish.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange (6-8 SRM) with a heavy, opaque haze characteristic of the style. Topped by a dense, persistent white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring a complex blend of tropical fruit, citrus, and berry. Prominent notes of tangerine, pomelo, and honeydew melon are supported by a light strawberry ester and a neutral, doughy malt backbone.
Taste. The initial impression is a burst of juicy fruit, leading with sweet tangerine and pomelo flavors. Mid-palate reveals distinct honeydew melon and a touch of fresh strawberry. Malt flavor is low and supportive, providing a soft bready character. Bitterness is firm but smooth, lacking harshness despite the high ABV. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering note of citrus zest and light resin.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy, and creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate. A smooth, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present without being solventy. No hop-derived astringency.
