Fit For A Queen is a decadent Double IPA modeled after blueberry cobbler. Its luscious character is driven by a creamy base of wheat, oats, and lactose, providing a soft foundation for Mosaic and El Dorado hops. These hops contribute layers of strawberry creamsicle and orange marmalade that intertwine with massive additions of fresh blueberry puree and aromatic cinnamon. Distinctive notes of graham cracker evoke freshly baked cookies, while the 8% ABV provides a subtle, supporting warmth. It balances the assertive fruit and spice profile against a dessert-like sweetness, delivering a sensory experience reminiscent of a berry-laden pastry topped with melty vanilla ice cream.
Appearance. SRM 20-25; deep pinkish-purple color. Pours with a moderate-sized, persistent, light-pink foam head. Opaque and hazy appearance due to the heavy addition of fruit puree, wheat, and oats.
Aroma. High intensity aromas of freshly crushed blueberries and sweet strawberry creamsicle. Secondary notes of orange marmalade and spicy cinnamon cookies. A supportive, doughy, and sweet malt background with hints of honey and graham cracker. Low alcohol note is clean and well-integrated.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of sweet blueberry and tropical fruit. Hop flavors of orange and berry from the Mosaic and El Dorado are prominent but softened by the creamy lactose. Malt character is bready and cake-like with a distinct graham cracker finish. Bitterness is moderate and balanced by the residual sugar, avoiding any harshness. To start this beer off, we brewed a base using choice wheat, oats, and some Lactose to create a creamy textured mouthfeel. We then Double Dry Hopped it with Mosaic and El Dorado and conditioned the beer on Cinnamon, tons of fresh Blueberry Pure´e, and a touch of Graham Cracker to create the cobbler sensation. Pouring a deep pinkish-purple, we find aromas and flavors reminiscent of freshly crushed blueberries, strawberry creamsicles, orange marmalade, and homemade cinnamon cookies straight out of the oven.
