This collaboration between Brique House and Paname Brewing Company delivers a punchy, high-impact sensory experience. It presents an intense hop-forward profile dominated by resinous pine, zesty citrus, and ripe tropical fruit notes. Despite its 7.7% ABV strength—alluded to by the 'Double Trouble' moniker—it maintains a clean, dry finish characteristic of a Double IPA. A supportive but unobtrusive pale malt backbone provides just enough structure to balance the aggressive bitterness without veering into heavy sweetness. Expect a bright, modern hop expression that remains exceptionally drinkable, offering a vibrant, aromatic journey that emphasizes impact and clarity of flavor.
Appearance. Gold to light orange-copper (7-10 SRM). Moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head with excellent lacing. Slight haze is present, though it remains bright and inviting.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of grapefruit, resinous pine, and passion fruit. Background malt is neutral and grainy with a hint of toasted crackers. Fermentation is clean with very light fruity esters and a subtle, well-integrated alcohol presence.
Taste. Assertive hop flavor follows the aroma with layers of citrus peel, resin, and stone fruit. Bitterness is high and firm but lacks harshness. Malt provides a soft, medium-dry support with no significant caramel or residual sugar. The finish is dry and crisp, leaving a lingering hoppy and resinous aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate-high. Notable but restrained alcohol warmth provides a pleasant glow without being solventy. No hop-derived astringency is present.
