Brique House Brewery’s Citrus Circus reimagines the classic German Pils as a vibrant, citrus-forward hoppy lager. The experience begins with a brilliant straw-gold pour and a resilient, creamy white head. Aromatically, it leads with a refreshing burst of lemon zest and orange peel, supported by the traditional floral and spicy nuances of noble-style hops. The palate is defined by a clean, grainy-sweet malt backbone reminiscent of toasted crackers, which is swiftly overtaken by a firm, crisp bitterness. At 5.5% ABV, it offers a slightly fuller presence than a standard pilsner while maintaining a dry, flinty finish that demands another sip.
Appearance.Straw to deep yellow (approx. 3 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a dense, creamy, long-lasting white head that leaves delicate lacing.
Aroma.Moderate-high hop intensity featuring prominent citrus notes of lemon and grapefruit alongside traditional floral and herbal nuances. A low, clean grainy-sweet malt character provides a background of toasted crackers and dough.
Taste.Initial light malt sweetness with a crackery quality, rapidly eclipsed by a medium-high hop bitterness. Flavors of citrus zest and spicy hops dominate the mid-palate. The finish is very dry and crisp, with a lingering clean bitterness and a faint minerally edge.
Mouthfeel.Medium-light body with a crisp, refreshing texture. High carbonation contributes to a lively mouthfeel. Very subtle alcohol warmth is well-integrated for its 5.5% ABV.
