The brewery was founded by Scott Brandon, his late wife Fiona Reddaway and their friends David and Julia, driven by a desire to make beer great and to share Bright’s spectacular surrounds and environment with everyone who passes through our town.
Between 2006 and 2011, our humble brewery and adjoining bar was housed in two small tin sheds, with only limited outdoor seating.
In 2012, Bright Brewery underwent substantial redevelopment, transforming the small and simple brewery and bar into an environmentally considered, multipurpose, all-weather venue, with seating capacity for over 250 people.
In 2014, Bright Brewery added a stunning Hop Terrace, providing the most attractive place in Bright to enjoy beers and meals outdoors.
Today, Bright Brewery continues as a independent family business, owned and managed by Scott Brandon with his management team, employing more than 40 local staff.
We are driven by our values to be authentic, sustainable and inclusive in all that we do, and to embrace active lifestyles, celebrated with great beer.
As a micro brewery, we are able to make more specialised beers using natural ingredients. We are able to have fun experimenting with different flavours. We are particularly lucky in Bright as we have pristine mountain water and are located in a valley renowned for its hop growing. All this adds up to being able to make great beer.
Bright Brewery’s growth continues! In 2015, we purchased the adjacent vacant block to continue the growth of the venue and visitor experience. Then, in the first half of 2016, we purchased a nearby site in Bright’s industrial precinct to build a production brewery. This facility, ‘Fred’s Shed’ opened in February 2018, tripling our brewing capacity and enabling us to make more beer as we take Bright Brewery to the national retail market! Bright Brewery beer is now available in a range of selected retail outlets around Australia, allowing those who love Bright and Bright Brewery to have a little taste of the mountains wherever they are.
