Bright Brewery’s Affogato Stout is a decadent Spice, Herb, or Vegetable Beer that translates the classic caffeinated dessert into a velvety liquid experience. A complex grain bill featuring Roast Barley and Roast Malt provides deep charred notes, while Biscuit and Amber malts offer a toasted, nutty depth. Infused with locally roasted Sixpence Coffee, the profile is defined by vibrant espresso aromas softened by the addition of creamy lactose and aromatic vanilla. Enigma hops provide a subtle, underlying complexity that stays secondary to the rich, dessert-like character. It is a hearty, full-bodied stout where roasted bitterness and luscious sweetness exist in perfect, indulgent harmony.

Appearance. Opaque black (40+ SRM) with a thick, long-lasting, creamy tan head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity of fresh-roasted Sixpence Coffee and sweet vanilla bean. The malt character is prominent, displaying dark chocolate, toasted Biscuit malt, and nutty Amber malt. Yeast-derived esters are low, and the Enigma hop character is nearly imperceptible behind the coffee and roast.

Taste. Initial impression is sweet and creamy from the lactose, followed by a rich wave of espresso and dark chocolate from the Roast Barley and Roast Malt. The vanilla enhances the sweetness, while the Biscuit malt provides a bready counterpoint. Bitterness is moderate but balanced by the heavy body, leading to a sweet, lingering, and smooth finish with no harsh roast acridity.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and exceptionally creamy with a thick, coating texture. Carbonation is moderate. Alcohol warmth is light and well-integrated, providing a gentle glow without any heat.
