This vibrant Fruit Beer, built on a robust American IPA foundation, leads with a punchy, uplifting aroma of fresh grapefruit zest. The sensory profile is defined by a seamless integration of citrus fruit and a tropical hop bill featuring Amarillo, El Dorado, Cascade, and Galaxy. On the palate, juicy grapefruit flavors meld with notes of passion fruit, melon, and resinous pine. The clean malt backbone provides just enough support for the zesty, bitter finish. At 7% ABV, it presents a well-integrated warmth that carries the fruit-forward complexity through a crisp and lingering aftertaste.
Appearance. Deep gold to light amber (7-12 SRM) with a faint orange hue. Topped with a frothy, off-white head showing good retention and lacing. Generally clear, though a slight haze from hop oils and fruit additions may be present.
Aroma. High intensity, dominated by fresh grapefruit juice and zest. The hop character is equally prominent, contributing layers of tropical fruit, citrus oil, and floral notes from the Amarillo and Galaxy hops. Very low grainy-sweet malt and a clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial impression is zesty and bright. Tart grapefruit flavors are front and center, balanced by tropical fruit notes of pineapple and stone fruit from El Dorado and Cascade hops. Moderate to high bitterness is accentuated by the citrus pith. The finish is dry and crisp with a lingering resinous and citrusy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with moderate-high carbonation. Noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth from the 7% ABV. A slight drying sensation on the palate is common due to the fruit acidity and hop bitterness.
