This Double IPA from Bridge Road Brewers delivers a powerful sensory experience defined by its classic West Coast roots. An intense hop profile featuring CTZ, Magnum, Cascade, Centennial, Citra, and Mosaic drives the character, offering a complex blend of bright citrus zest, tropical fruit, and deep forest pine. A solid malt body provides a necessary foundation for the aggressive, resinous hop bitterness that defines the style. Despite the significant 8.3% strength, the beer remains remarkably drinkable, finishing dry with a lingering hop presence. The interplay of floral Centennial and berry-like Mosaic notes creates a sophisticated layer over the firm Magnum-driven structure.
Appearance. Deep gold to light copper in color (8–12 SRM). Displays excellent clarity with a moderate-sized, persistent off-white head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. Intense hop aroma characterized by grapefruit and lemon citrus, pungent pine resin, and hints of tropical mango. A clean, neutral, slightly grainy malt backbone supports the hops, accompanied by a very light, smooth alcohol note and a clean fermentation profile.
Taste. High hop flavor echoes the aroma with dominant citrus, resinous pine, and subtle stone fruit. Bitterness is high but well-structured and devoid of harshness. A supportive, low-intensity malt character offers faint toasted notes. The finish is decisively dry and clean, leaving a long-lasting, bitter, and floral aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly oily texture from hop oils. Carbonation is moderate-high, providing a crisp bite. A gentle, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present but remains refined and never solventy.
