Brewski Matador is a vibrant and refreshing Berliner Weisse that marries traditional lactic sharpness with modern fruit additions. The sensory experience is led by high-intensity aromas of zesty lime peel and sun-ripened pineapple, layered over a delicate foundation of doughy wheat and Pilsner malt. On the palate, a crisp, clean lactic acidity provides a structural backbone for succulent tropical fruit flavors, while the lime adds a bright, citrusy lift to the finish. Highly carbonated and incredibly quaffable, it remains light-bodied and effervescent, delivering a fruit-forward interpretation of the style with an exceptionally dry and thirst-quenching conclusion.
Appearance. Straw to pale gold (3 SRM); large, dense white head with poor retention typical of the style; slight haze from the wheat and fruit additions.
Aroma. High intensity acidity and fruit; dominant fresh pineapple and lime zest aromas; secondary notes of raw bread dough and sourdough; no hop aroma; clean lactic character without funk.
Taste. Initial impression is sharp and refreshing; clean lactic sourness dominates, balanced by a light, bready wheat malt flavor. Hop bitterness is undetectable. Vibrant pineapple and tart lime flavors are prominent throughout, leading to a very dry, crisp finish with a lingering citrus tartness.
