The nose is greeted by an intense wave of toasted coconut and floral, cream-like vanilla, layered over deep roasted malt notes of espresso and bittersweet chocolate. On the palate, the oily richness of the coconut provides a velvety texture that complements the dark grain bitterness and subtle dried fruit esters. It finishes with a harmonious balance of lingering cocoa sweetness and smooth alcohol warmth, embodying a complex, dessert-like intensity through its skillfully integrated adjuncts and robust malt backbone.

Appearance. Jet black and opaque (SRM 40+) with a dense, dark tan head that shows moderate retention. Significant viscosity is apparent, leaving visible legs on the glass as it swirls.

Aroma. High intensity aroma featuring a complex blend of toasted coconut, rich Madagascar vanilla, and darker chocolate-like roast. Subtle notes of licorice and prunes emerge alongside a gentle, clean alcohol presence and low earthy hops.

Taste. The initial impression is of rich dark chocolate and creamy coconut. This transitions into a complex vanilla mid-palate, blending Java's spicy character with Madagascar’s sweetness. Moderate bitterness from roasted grains and hops balances the residual sugars, leading to a long, warming finish of cocoa and toasted nuts.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and exceptionally viscous with a velvety, chewy texture. Carbonation is low, enhancing the creamy mouth-coating quality provided by the coconut oils. A pleasant, smooth alcohol warmth is noticeable but not hot.
