Brewlihan Tetratomic is a decadent, spirit-forward Experimental Mead that presents a concentrated symphony of dark fruit. Aged for fourteen months in KC18 barrels, the profile is defined by a massive, jammy core of Blueberry, Black Currant, Black Raspberry, and Blackberry. The intense fruit character is integrated with the assertive, spirituous warmth of the barrel, offering notes of toasted oak and rich vanilla. This viscous liquid balances the natural tartness of the currants against a deep, honeyed sweetness. Each sip delivers a complex, lingering finish where the vibrant berry medley meets the sophisticated depth of a well-aged spirit.
Appearance. Deep, opaque midnight purple with vibrant magenta highlights. As a still mead, it lacks foam or lacing, instead exhibiting heavy legs and high viscosity on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity of dark berry fruit, featuring jammy Blackberry and pungent Black Currant. Rich honey sweetness and floral notes are present, complemented by heavy oak and spirit-forward aromas from the KC18 barrel. Noticeable alcohol warmth.
Taste. Sweet and intensely fruity, with flavors of Blueberry and Black Raspberry providing a jammy, concentrated character. The Black Currant adds a necessary acidic balance. Significant spirit and oak flavors from the fourteen-month barrel aging. No hop bitterness. Finish is long, sweet, and warming with lingering berry fruit.
Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and viscous, almost syrupy. No carbonation (still). Significant warmth from the 12% ABV and spirit barrel influence. Smooth and mouth-coating with a light tannic grip.
