This Double IPA is a collaborative hazy Nelson bomb between BrewHeart and KRECHER, designed to showcase an intense hop profile over a signature pillowy malt base. The sensory experience is dominated by the unique character of Nelson Sauvin, delivering distinct notes of white grapes and crushed gooseberry. Mosaic adds layers of ripe red berries and tropical fruit, while Simcoe provides a bright touch of citrus and subtle pine resin. Despite its 8% ABV, the beer maintains high drinkability with a soft, rounded mouthfeel that balances the firm bitterness, resulting in a vibrant and modern interpretation of the style.
Appearance. Pale gold to light orange (approx. 7-9 SRM). Significant haze with a moderate-sized, persistent, creamy white head and fine lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward aroma. Nelson Sauvin provides prominent white grape and gooseberry notes, complemented by Mosaic-derived red berries. Simcoe adds backing notes of grapefruit and light resin. Malt is neutral and grainy-sweet in the background with a clean fermentation profile and a hint of smooth alcohol.
Taste. Strong, complex hop flavors featuring white grape, red berries, and zesty citrus. The bitterness is high but smooth, lacking harshness. A low, clean, soft malt character provides support. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering fruit and resinous hop aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a notable pillowy and soft texture. Carbonation is moderate. A gentle, restrained alcohol warmth is present, enhancing the fullness without being hot or solventy. No hop-derived astringency.
