Brewery Ommegang Neon Pools
Neon Pools is a luminous Hazy IPA that radiates a saturated, tropical intensity. A heavy addition of flaked oats and malted oats builds a velvety, soft canvas for a humongous splash of hops. The profile is led by the vibrant citrus punch of Citra and Amarillo, which seamlessly blends into the ripe mango and berry notes of Mosaic. Cashmere provides delicate touches of peach and melon, while Simcoe adds a grounding layer of passionfruit and subtle pine. Supported by a clean 2-Row barley base, the result is a succulent, juicy experience with a soft, rounded bitterness and a bright, refreshing finish.
Appearance. Color is a deep straw to light orange (5 SRM) with a characteristically opaque, hazy shine. Features a medium-large, rocky, white head with excellent retention and meringue-like lacing.
Aroma. High-intensity hop aroma featuring a complex blend of mango, pineapple, and tangerine. Specific notes of peach and melon from the hops are present over a low, grainy, bready malt background. Clean fermentation with no harsh herbal or grassy notes.
Taste. Massive hop-forward flavor mirroring the tropical and citrus aroma. High fruitiness with layers of grapefruit and stone fruit. Malt flavor is low to medium and bready, providing a soft foundation. Bitterness is moderate but perceived as low due to the full body, finishing smooth and off-dry without any hop harshness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a notably smooth, silky texture from the oats. Carbonation is moderate. Alcohol warmth is light and well-integrated, with a total absence of astringency or raw starchiness.
