This English Barley Wine presents a rich, multi-layered profile inspired by Muscatel wine. Deep caramel and toffee malt foundations are brightened by the addition of orange peel and new German hops, introducing a vibrant sweet citrus and tropical pineapple character. Matured with oak chips, the beer exhibits sophisticated toasted oak notes and a distinct pomegranate tartness that complements the vinous Muscat quality. At 9% alcohol, it balances substantial malt sweetness with a smooth, velvety texture. The interplay between traditional British malty depth and contemporary fruit-forward elements creates a modern, complex take on a classic winter sipper that is both chewy and warming.

Appearance. Deep copper to amber-brown with ruby highlights. Features a low, off-white head with moderate retention and visible legs reflecting its high viscosity. Clarity is generally good, though the inclusion of orange peel may lend a very slight haze.

Aroma. High aromatic intensity. Dominant scents of rich toffee and sweet caramel are layered with complex fruity notes of Muscat grapes, pineapple, and pomegranate. Distinctive citrus oils from orange peel mingle with earthy, toasted oak and a soft, rounded alcohol warmth.

Taste. Initial impression is of dense caramel and biscuit malt sweetness. Mid-palate flavors of tropical pineapple and bright orange peel emerge, driven by the German hops and fruit additions. Vinous Muscatel and tart pomegranate notes add complexity, supported by a moderate hop bitterness that prevents cloying. The finish is long and warming, with lingering toasted oak and dried fruit.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and luscious with a velvety, chewy texture. Carbonation is moderate-low, providing a smooth delivery. A gentle, integrated alcohol warmth is present, complemented by a subtle oak-derived structure that avoids harsh astringency.
