Tree Haus reimagines the classic Munich Helles with a bold, modern edge. Built on a foundation of Europils malt, it delivers a grainy-sweet backbone that supports a vibrant American hop profile. Expect a bright sensory experience where the traditional herbal character is elevated by distinctive notes of lemon zest, fresh citrus, and a surprising cracked pepper earthiness. While the 6% ABV adds a touch more weight than a standard lager, it remains crisp and approachable. The finish is remarkably clean, balancing the soft malt richness against a lively, hop-forward sparkle that deviates delightfully from traditional German lager expectations.
Appearance. Brilliant pale gold (approx. 4 SRM) with excellent clarity. Pours with a persistent, creamy white head that leaves delicate lacing.
Aroma. Moderate intensity featuring a grainy-sweet Europils malt base. The traditional clean lager profile is layered with American hop aromas of lemon peel, bright citrus, and a hint of earthy black pepper. Fermentation is clean with no esters or diacetyl.
Taste. Initial impression is moderately malty with a soft, rounded grainy sweetness. This is quickly met by a moderate hop flavor showcasing citrus and lemon zest. Bitterness is low to medium-low, providing enough structure to keep the finish dry and refreshing rather than sweet. Earthy and peppery notes linger slightly in the clean, crisp aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, well-lagered texture. Carbonation is moderate to high, providing a lively prickle. A very subtle hint of alcohol warmth is present due to the elevated ABV, but it remains well-integrated.
