BrewDog Pride reimagines the American Lager as a vibrant, tropical refresher through a bold infusion of guava. This pale straw-colored lager opens with an immediate aromatic punch of ripe guava, layered over a subtle, clean backdrop of grainy-sweet malt. The palate remains incredibly lean and crisp, true to its style, with the tropical fruit providing a juicy impression that tapers into a bone-dry, highly carbonated finish. Low bitterness ensures the focus remains on the fruit's brightness, making for an exceptionally thirst-quenching experience that balances traditional lager drinkability with an assertive, exotic fruit character.
Appearance. Color is 2–3 SRM, appearing very pale straw with brilliant clarity. It pours with a white, frothy head that dissipates relatively quickly, leaving minimal lacing.
Aroma. High intensity of tropical guava dominates the nose, reminiscent of fresh pink fruit and nectar. Behind the fruit is a very low, clean malt profile with faint notes of sweet grain. Hop aroma is nearly absent, with a clean fermentation profile devoid of yeast-derived esters.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of juicy guava followed by a neutral, light grain sweetness. The mid-palate is crisp and highly attenuated, following the American Lager tradition. Hop bitterness is low, around 12 IBU, serving only to balance the fruit without lingering. The finish is short and very dry with a clean, tropical aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Light body with very high carbonation, creating a prickly carbonic bite that enhances the refreshing quality. No alcohol warmth is perceived at 4.5% ABV. The texture is smooth and devoid of astringency.
