Lucky Break is a vibrant Hazy IPA that showcases a masterful hop trio of Citra, Mosaic, and Talus. It presents a saturated, tropical bouquet where ripe mango and passionfruit collide with bright citrus notes. The addition of Talus introduces a distinct floral elegance and a hint of fresh grass that sharpens the aromatics without adding harshness. On the palate, the experience is exceptionally smooth, delivering a juicy profile of stone fruit and pink grapefruit. A soft, pillowy body carries the intense hop flavors through a low-bitterness finish, while a faint, bready malt backbone provides the necessary structure for this modern, fruit-forward beer.
Appearance. Pours a hazy, glowing straw to light orange with a dense, white, meringue-like head that demonstrates excellent retention. The beer has an opaque shine without appearing muddy or containing visible sediment.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by tropical fruits like mango and pineapple alongside tangerine citrus. Distinctive floral notes and a subtle hint of fresh-cut grass are present. Malt is neutral and lightly bready in the background, supported by a clean fermentation profile.
Taste. High fruity hop flavor featuring layers of peach, melon, and citrus zest. The bitterness is moderate but soft, never harsh, allowing the juicy hop character to lead. A light, grainy malt sweetness balances the fruit-forward profile, leading to a smooth, off-dry finish with a lingering tropical aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a characteristically soft, pillowy texture. Carbonation is moderate, providing a gentle lift. There is no astringency or harshness, and the alcohol provides a very light, well-integrated warmth.
