BrewDog Lost Lager
This vibrant German Pils showcases a modern, dry-hopped profile while honoring traditional lager foundations. Built upon a crisp base of Bavarian yeast and a unique malt bill, the beer presents a lean, crackery backbone. The standout sensory feature is the trio of German hops: Saphir, Select, and Spalter. These varieties deliver a sophisticated bouquet of bright citrus zest and delicate stone fruit, grounded by classic herbal and spicy undertones. The experience is defined by a clean, snappy finish and a refreshing bitterness, reclaiming the depth of the style with every lively, effervescent sip.
Appearance. Brilliant straw to light gold (SRM 2–4). Features a creamy, long-lasting white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. Moderately high hop intensity featuring a blend of spicy, herbal Select and Spalter hops, complemented by distinct citrus and stone-fruit notes from the Saphir dry-hopping. Low grainy-sweet malt character with a hint of toasted cracker and a perfectly clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial grainy-sweet malt flavor is quickly overtaken by assertive hop bitterness and flavor. Notes of lemon zest and light apricot merge with traditional herbal tones. Medium-high bitterness is firm but clean, leading into a bone-dry, crisp finish with a lingering floral and spicy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with moderate to high carbonation that enhances the crispness. No alcohol warmth is perceived, and the finish is clean without harshness or astringency.
