This imperial-strength Baltic Porter presents a decadent, multi-layered sensory experience, amplified by the addition of muscovado sugar and cold-brew coffee. A deep, rich malt foundation of toffee and dark bread supports complex layers of dark fruit esters, reminiscent of raisins and plums. The muscovado sugar introduces a deep molasses-like complexity, while the cold-brew coffee provides a bright, fruity roast character rather than harsh, burnt notes. At twelve percent alcohol, it offers a significant yet smooth warmth that lingers alongside a velvety finish. This refined brew balances its intense sweetness with a clean fermentation profile, typical of the style's lager heritage.
Appearance. Opaque dark brown with deep reddish-copper highlights; thick, persistent tan head with fine lacing; clear when held to light despite its depth.
Aroma. High intensity; rich maltiness featuring deep toast, molasses from muscovado sugar, and licorice; prominent fruity cold-brew coffee notes; esters of prune and dried cherry; moderate alcohol presence with a vinous, Port-like quality; no hop aroma.
