Manic Mango is a vibrant American IPA that leans heavily into the tropical spectrum. Brewed with extra pale malt, wheat, and oats, it presents a lush, juice-like character typical of a modern unfiltered ale. The hop profile is dominated by Citra, Nelson Sauvin, and Idaho 7, delivering intense layers of ripe mango, peach, and pineapple. A clean bitterness from Magnum provides necessary structure against the fruit-forward palate. The addition of fresh mango fruit amplifies the tropical esters, while the oat-heavy grist ensures a smooth, creamy delivery. It finishes with a refined bitterness that balances the succulent fruit notes perfectly.
Appearance. Deep gold to light amber (SRM 7-9). Opaque and hazy due to being unfiltered, with a thick, juice-like appearance. Features a medium-sized, persistent white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward aroma featuring prominent tropical fruit notes of mango, pineapple, and passionfruit from Citra and Nelson Sauvin. Subtle apricot and resinous hints from Idaho 7. Low grainy, bready malt sweetness is present, supported by a clean fermentation profile.
Taste. High hop flavor consistent with the aroma, showcasing ripe mango, juicy orange, and stone fruit. Low to medium-low grainy maltiness from the extra pale malt provides a supportive base. Medium-high bitterness is firm but smooth, leading to a medium-dry finish with a lingering tropical fruit and citrus aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a notably smooth, creamy texture provided by the wheat and oats. Moderate carbonation. Very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth with no hop harshness or astringency.
