This vintage Wild Ale, aged since 2020 in Schieber red wine barrels, presents a complex marriage of rustic funk and vinous elegance. The extended maturation has developed a profound Brettanomyces character, offering layers of wet hay and earthy barnyard notes that complement the vibrant acidity. The influence of the Szekszárd red wine casks is evident through dried cherry, red currant, and refined oak tannin undertones. It finishes remarkably dry and crisp, reflecting high attenuation while maintaining a sophisticated, fruit-forward profile. The result is a uniquely Hungarian expression of the style, balancing tartness with a deep, wood-aged soul.

Appearance. Pours a hazy, deep gold to burnished amber with a soft, off-white head that fades to a persistent thin collar. Head retention is moderate to low, typical for a long-aged acidic beer, with light lacing.

Aroma. High intensity with a prominent Brettanomyces profile of barnyard, leather, and wet hay. These funky notes are layered over vinous red grape, oak, and a bright acidity. Subtle fruit esters of apricot and lemon zest emerge as the beer warms.

Taste. The initial impression is one of sharp, clean tartness followed by earthy, funky Brett character. Mid-palate flavors include red berries and tart cherry derived from the red wine barrel influence. The malt remains a quiet, crackery backdrop to the dominant fermentation character. It finishes bone-dry and crisp with a lingering peppery spice and light oak astringency.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with moderate to high carbonation that provides a prickly, refreshing sensation. There is a light tannic grip on the tongue and a subtle, well-integrated alcohol warmth.
