Poured jet black, it releases an intense aroma of toasted coconut, dark chocolate, and the almond-like spice of Tonka. On the palate, the oat milk provides a remarkably creamy, sweet finish that emphasizes Bounty-like flavors of shredded coconut and bittersweet cocoa. Deep roasted malts provide a foundation of coffee and burnt grain, balanced by moderate bitterness and a gentle alcohol warmth. It is a complex, velvety dessert stout that maintains a harmonious interplay between its specialty ingredients and traditional dark fruit esters like plum and raisin.
Appearance. Opaque jet black (40 SRM). Thick, persistent deep tan head with moderate lacing. High viscosity is apparent in the glass with visible legs.
Aroma. High intensity. Prominent toasted coconut and vanilla-like Tonka bean aromas. Secondary notes of dark chocolate, roasted coffee, and subtle black cherry esters. Low earthy hop character with a hint of warming alcohol.
Taste. Initial impression is sweet and rich. Dominant flavors of dark chocolate and coconut transition into a mid-palate of roasted grain and light char. The Tonka beans add a spiced complexity reminiscent of cinnamon or almond. Finishes with a lingering sweetness from the oat milk and a moderate bitterness that prevents a cloying sensation. Aftertaste of cocoa and smooth roast.
Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and exceptionally creamy with a velvety, chewy texture enhanced by the oat milk. Moderate-low carbonation. Noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth that integrates well with the rich flavors.
