This collaborative American IPA bridges classic West Coast structure with modern tropical flair. A sturdy foundation of Columbus, Centennial, and Simcoe hops provides a resinous, piney, and floral backbone. This classic profile is elevated by the experimental HBC586 hop, which injects a vibrant fruit basket of tropical flavors into the sensory landscape. Fermented with the clean, reliable Thornbridge house yeast, the beer maintains a crisp profile that allows the hop complexity to remain front and center. The result is a bold, bitter, and brilliantly clear ale where traditional evergreen notes meet contemporary stone fruit and citrus, finishing with a refreshing, dry snap.
Appearance. Medium gold to light amber. Brilliant clarity with a dense, white, persistent head that leaves significant lacing as it recedes.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring dank pine and resin, followed by floral and grapefruit citrus notes. A distinct tropical fruit layer of mango and lychee emerges prominently. Low grainy malt sweetness provides a neutral base, while the fermentation profile is very clean with only a faint, supportive fruity ester.
Taste. Strong hop flavors dominate, mirroring the aroma with resinous pine, grapefruit peel, and a complex tropical medley. Medium-high bitterness is sharp but clean, providing a classic hop-forward balance. Low, toasty malt supports the hop load without adding heavy sweetness. The finish is medium-dry and lingering with a crisp, hoppy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly oily texture from high hop oil content. Medium-high carbonation provides a lively, refreshing mouthfeel. At 7.1% ABV, a very light, smooth alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated without harshness.
