Champale Supernova is a vibrant, modern American Pale Ale that leans into the lush, juicy profiles favored by contemporary enthusiasts. This hazy pour leads with a high-intensity hop bouquet where Idaho 7 imparts a surge of tropical stone fruit and mango, grounded by the classic resinous pine and grapefruit zest of Simcoe. The malt base remains supportive and lean, offering soft bready notes that allow the hops to remain the primary focal point. Refreshing and balanced, it finishes with a clean, moderate bitterness that highlights the complex interplay between New World tropical fruitiness and traditional evergreen depth.
Appearance. Pale gold with a pronounced, uniform haze. Topped by a moderately large, creamy white head with excellent retention and delicate lacing.
Aroma. High hop intensity featuring prominent tropical fruit, pineapple, and apricot from the Idaho 7, complemented by layers of resinous pine and bright citrus peel from Simcoe. Low bready and neutral grain maltiness provides a soft foundation, with very light fruity yeast esters.
Taste. Bold tropical fruit and mango flavors lead, followed by a mid-palate of grapefruit and earthy pine. The malt character is clean and biscuit-like, balancing a moderate hop bitterness. The finish is medium-dry and crisp, with lingering notes of citrus resin and tropical juice.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a slightly soft, silky texture. Moderate carbonation provides a gentle prickle on the tongue, with no astringency and a smooth, well-integrated alcohol presence.
