This Scottish Export pays homage to Peterhead’s brewing legacy with a rich, malt-forward profile. The 80 shilling style displays a deep copper hue and a sensory bouquet of toasted breadcrumbs, graham crackers, and subtle butterscotch. A diverse blend of roasted malts imparts layers of caramel and toffee, balanced by a faint, roasty dryness in the finish. Fermentation is clean, allowing light esters of pome fruit to emerge. The hop presence is intentionally restrained, providing just enough earthy bitterness to ensure the residual sweetness remains pleasant and drinkable, staying true to traditional North East Scottish craftsmanship and brewing history.

Appearance. Pale copper to deep brown (12–20 SRM). Clear to brilliant clarity. Low to moderate, creamy off-white head with good retention.

Aroma. Moderate intensity dominated by malt. Expect rich notes of toasted bread, English biscuits, and toffee, with light sugary qualities resembling butterscotch. Very low earthy hop aroma and faint pome fruit esters are permissible.

Taste. Initial impression is malty and sweet, featuring layers of caramel, toffee, and toasted grains. The palate reveals a clean fermentation profile with minimal hop flavor. Finishes with a slight roasty dryness that cuts through the malt sweetness. Bitterness is low to moderate, serving primarily to balance the sugars without lingering.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a moderately creamy texture. Carbonation is medium-low to medium. Alcohol warmth is very light and well-integrated. Smooth and non-astringent.
