This American Pale Ale delivers a modern sensory experience by blending the classic American Simcoe with the intense tropical character of New Zealand Nectaron. The pour presents a soft, hazy base that creates a lush, smooth foundation for a kaleidoscope of hop flavors. High-impact aromas of passionfruit, peach, and pineapple from the Nectaron are balanced by the characteristic resinous pine and citrus zest of Simcoe. A restrained, grainy malt profile supports these bold hop notes without adding heavy sweetness. The finish is remarkably clean, offering a lingering resinous bitterness and a bright burst of grapefruit oil that invites another sip.
Appearance. Pale golden (approx. 6 SRM) with a distinct, modern haze. Crowning the beer is a moderately large, creamy white head with excellent retention and significant lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring a complex blend of tropical fruit, stone fruit, and citrus. Nectaron drives notes of passionfruit and peach, while Simcoe adds a sharp pine and grapefruit rind quality. Low neutral grainy maltiness is present in the background.
Taste. Initial hop-forward impression of pineapple and passionfruit followed by a firm, resinous pine and citrus pith complexity. Malt flavor is low and neutral-grainy, providing a supportive but lean backbone. Bitterness is moderate, balancing the fruit-forward hop character. The finish is medium-dry and clean, with a lingering tropical and citrus aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a noticeably smooth, soft texture. Carbonation is moderate. No perceived alcohol warmth. Overall clean finish with no harshness or astringency.
