De smaak is geïnspireerd op Borsjtsj, een typisch Oekraïens gerecht en bevat rode bietensap. Het recept kan vrij aangepast worden door brouwers en dit is exact wat de cursisten van Syntra campus Leuven hebben gedaan op de ketels van BRAUW in Genk. Ze hebben bovenop het originele recept gerookte mout gebruikt en hebben gekozen voor East Kent Goldings als bitterhop samen met Willamette als aroma-hop.
