Brasserie Osseus Radius presents a contemporary take on the Belgian Pale Ale, balancing traditional continental character with vibrant modern influences. A base of three grains provides a foundation of bready, biscuity malt and subtle honey notes. This platform supports an expressive hop profile derived from three American hops, delivering distinctive layers of citrus and tropical fruit that lift the classic pear and apple esters. While staying true to the style's balanced bitterness and smooth finish, the 6% ABV provides a light, integrated warmth, resulting in a sessionable yet complex ale that bridges the gap between Belgian tradition and American aromatics.
Appearance. Deep gold to pale amber in color with very good clarity. Topped by a generous, rocky, white head that exhibits excellent retention and leaves a creamy lacing on the glass.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity featuring bready and lightly toasty malt aromas. Complemented by a rich fruitiness blending Belgian-style pear and orange esters with New World American hop notes of grapefruit and mango. A low, peppery phenolic spice is present but remains secondary to the fruit and malt.
Taste. Initial palate is soft and smooth with biscuity and honey-like malt flavors. The mid-palate transitions into a more pronounced citrus and tropical fruit character. Bitterness is moderate to firm, supporting a balanced to dry finish where herbal hop notes and a hint of peppery yeast linger cleanly.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, well-rounded texture. Carbonation is moderate to high, providing a lively effervescence. A subtle, well-integrated alcohol warmth is noticeable toward the finish.
