Linga Ignota is a vibrant Hazy IPA that exemplifies the juicy archetype through a masterfully layered hop profile. The trio of Citra, Simcoe, and Mosaic hops creates an aromatic explosion of ripe mango, passion fruit, and bright tangerine, balanced by a subtle undercurrent of pine and forest berries. Its appearance is characteristically opaque with a glowing, pale straw hue. On the palate, a soft, pillowy malt backbone provides a smooth canvas for the intense tropical fruit flavors to shine. It finishes with a gentle, restrained bitterness and an off-dry, refreshing quality that emphasizes drinkability over sharp resins.
Appearance. Color is a pale straw to golden yellow with a luminous, opaque haze. It supports a thick, rocky, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and dense, tiered lacing.
Aroma. High-intensity aromatics featuring heavy tropical fruit notes of mango and papaya from the Mosaic hops, alongside sharp grapefruit and lime zest from Citra. Simcoe adds a complex layer of passion fruit and a hint of resinous pine. A neutral, bready malt scent lingers in the background.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of succulent peach and pineapple. Citra and Mosaic hops drive a saturated tropical profile, while Simcoe adds depth with notes of berry. Malt flavor is low and grainy. Bitterness is moderate and smooth, leading into an off-dry finish where hop oils linger without any harshness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a noticeably soft, silky, and pillowy texture. Carbonation is moderate, contributing to a creamy mouthfeel. There is a faint, well-integrated alcohol warmth.
