This bright Ordinary Bitter showcases a modern twist on a classic session style by utilizing a single hop addition of Galaxy. On the nose, the signature Galaxy hops provide vibrant notes of passionfruit and peach, which meld seamlessly with the bready and slightly toasty malt base. The palate is defined by a crisp, decidedly bitter profile where the tropical fruit esters from the hops and yeast complement a light caramel sweetness. Its low gravity and light body ensure maximum drinkability, finishing clean and dry with a lingering earthy bitterness. It remains a quintessential British session ale refreshed with contemporary hop character.
Appearance. Pale amber (10 SRM); low to moderate off-white head with fair retention; brilliant clarity.
Aroma. Moderate intensity with a blend of bready, lightly toasty malt and a light caramel quality. Pronounced fruity hop character featuring passionfruit and citrus notes from the Galaxy hops. Mild fruity esters like pear are present; no diacetyl.
Taste. Initial impression is crisp and decidedly bitter. Low bready and biscuity malt flavor is present but subordinate to a medium-high bitterness. Moderate Galaxy hop flavors of passionfruit and citrus are balanced by moderately low fruity esters. The finish is dry and clean with a lingering, pleasant hop bitterness.
Mouthfeel. Light to medium-light body; low to moderate carbonation; no alcohol warmth; smooth with no astringency.

Like any small brewery, we’re bursting at the seams and could always do with more space. Brass Castle has recently begun developing kombucha recipes to join the beer line-up and we would very much like to enhance our Taphouse with food offerings and more space for community events.
