This crisp West Coast style American IPA delivers a vibrant, hop-forward experience that highlights a thoughtful blend of Chinook, Motueka, and Jester. The aroma is led by the assertive grapefruit and resinous pine of Chinook, complemented by the bright lime and tropical citrus of Motueka. The addition of Jester introduces a unique modern character, contributing intriguing notes of blackcurrant and dark fruit. A lean, clean malt profile provides a transparent backdrop, allowing the firm bitterness to shine through to a bone-dry finish. It is a refreshing, aromatic, and precisely balanced ale that celebrates the interplay of classic and contemporary hop varieties.
Appearance. Medium gold with brilliant clarity and a moderate, white, persistent head that leaves fine lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of grapefruit pith, resinous pine, and zesty lime, supported by a distinctive berry-like blackcurrant note. Low, clean, grainy-sweet maltiness in the background with a neutral fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial impression is sharply hop-forward with flavors of grapefruit, tropical fruit, and pine. Low grainy malt flavor supports a medium-high to high bitterness that is firm but not harsh. The Jester hops provide a subtle dark fruit complexity in the mid-palate. The finish is dry and clean with a lingering, hoppy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, crisp texture. Carbonation is medium-high, and the 7% ABV provides a very light, well-integrated warmth without any alcoholic harshness.
