The Jester is a vibrant Hazy IPA that showcases an innovative pairing of Harlequin and Motueka hops. On the nose, a tropical explosion of ripe passionfruit and juicy pineapple leads the charge, complemented by lush peach notes and a distinctive, subtle UK hop complexity unique to the Harlequin variety. The addition of Motueka adds a bright, zesty citrus lift that sharpens the sensory profile. Its soft, pillowy body delivers these intense fruit flavors with a smooth, velvety mouthfeel and restrained bitterness. This double dry-hopped offering balances its strength with a clean, grainy malt backbone, resulting in a refreshing, juice-forward experience.
Appearance. Opaque straw-gold with a luminous hazy shine; topped with a dense, meringue-like white head that exhibits excellent retention and leaves intricate lacing.
Aroma. High intensity of tropical and stone fruit aromas, featuring prominent notes of fresh passionfruit, crushed pineapple, and ripe peach. A bright citrus zest provides a fresh top note, while a subtle, refined herbal complexity lingers in the background. The malt profile is clean and supportive, offering hints of light bready dough.
Taste. An immediate burst of tropical juice dominates the palate, with layers of pineapple and peach flowing into a bright citrus middle. The hops contribute a lime-like snap that balances the softer stone fruit character. Bitterness is low to moderate and exceptionally smooth. A light, grainy malt sweetness provides a foundation without adding weight. The finish is clean and off-dry, leaving a lingering impression of tropical fruit.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy, and creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate, enhancing the drinkability. A very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, and the sensation is smooth and free from any hop-derived astringency.
