This Double IPA delivers a vibrant sensory experience, showcasing a sophisticated hop profile. Two distinct lots of Citra drive the profile with bright citrus zest and lush, ripe peach, while Simcoe and NZ Cascade provide a layered tropical foundation. The aroma is saturated with red papaya and mango, transitioning into a dense, fruit-forward palate. While it presents a velvety mouthfeel typical of hazy iterations, a deliberate, firm bitterness balances the juicy character, honoring the style’s roots. Clean malt provides subtle support, allowing the hop intensity and well-integrated alcohol warmth to define the finish.
Appearance. Light gold to pale orange (5–7 SRM). Opaque, hazy appearance with a dense, persistent white head that leaves thick lacing.
Aroma. Intense hop aroma dominated by tropical and stone fruits. Prominent notes of ripe mango, red papaya, and peach are layered over bright citrus zest. A low, neutral, grainy malt background exists, with a clean fermentation profile and a hint of smooth alcohol.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of tropical fruit juice. High hop flavor mirrors the aroma with stone fruit, mango, and citrus. Bitterness is firm and moderately high, providing a clean counterpoint to the fruit-forward profile without harshness. The malt is soft and unobtrusive. Finishes medium-dry with a lingering resinous and fruity aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, creamy, and slightly fuzzy texture. Carbonation is moderate. A gentle, well-restrained alcohol warmth is present, enhancing the overall weight without astringency.
