Cognitive Dissonance is a vibrant Hazy IPA that showcases the synergistic pairing of Citra and Motueka hops. It pours with a luminous golden haze and a persistent white head. The sensory profile is dominated by an explosion of tropical and citrus notes, specifically candied citrus, ripe mango, and sweet mandarin. These intense fruit characters are supported by a subtle, grainy malt backbone and a soft, pillowy texture. Despite its 7.5% ABV, the beer maintains a remarkable balance and high drinkability, finishing with a restrained bitterness that highlights the lush hop saturation and clean fermentation character.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange (6-7 SRM). Opaque, luminous haze with a dense, rocky, meringue-like white head showing high retention and thick lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward bouquet featuring distinct layers of candied mandarin, lime zest from the Motueka, and heavy mango nectar from the Citra. Low, clean, bready-grainy malt in the background; neutral fermentation with faint fruity esters and no alcohol harshness.
Taste. High fruity hop flavor of sweet mango and mandarin orange. Low to medium-low bready malt flavor. Bitterness is moderate but perceived as low due to the soft body. The finish is off-dry and smooth, leaving a lingering, juice-like tropical fruit aftertaste with no sharp bitterness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, silky, and pillowy texture. Moderate carbonation. Subtle, well-integrated alcohol warmth from the 7.5% ABV. No astringency or harshness.
