Brabante Oro is a refined Belgian Blond Ale that showcases a deep golden hue and a complex sensory profile derived from its double fermentation process. The aroma is deep and inviting, lead by a blend of toasted malts that impart honey-like sweetness and crackery notes. Delicate citrus esters of lemon and orange mingle with a subtle peppery phenol character from the yeast. On the palate, it balances a smooth malty sweetness with a moderate hop bitterness, finishing clean and medium-dry. Despite its 6.5% ABV, it remains remarkably approachable, offering a creamy, long-lasting head and a consistent, satisfying mouthfeel that lingers with a soft malt character.
Appearance. Deep gold color (approx. 6 SRM). Large, dense, and spongy white head with excellent retention and Belgian lacing. Generally very clear.
Aroma. Moderate intensity. Grainy-sweet and slightly toasty malt aroma with hints of honey. Subtle fruity esters of orange and lemon are present, complemented by a background of light peppery phenols and a faint earthy hop note.
Taste. Initial grainy-sweet malt flavor leads to a soft, honey-like sweetness on the mid-palate. Medium bitterness provides balance, though the malt remains slightly more prominent. Moderate fermentation character featuring citrusy esters and spicy phenols. Light earthy hop flavor. Finishes medium-dry, smooth, and clean with a lingering touch of sweet malt.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a somewhat creamy texture. High carbonation creates a mouth-filling, bubbly sensation. Light, smooth alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated.
