BOXCAR Timeless
American IPA 6.8 º
This Hazy IPA captures a lush, modern fruit profile driven by the distinctive character of Strata hops. Bright notes of ripe strawberry and soft tropical passionfruit lead the charge, seamlessly merging with the stone fruit esters of the brewery's peachy house yeast. An oat-heavy base delivers a wonderfully pillowy, smooth foundation that carries these vibrant hop layers across the palate without any harshness. With its pillowy mouthfeel and restrained bitterness, this expressive ale balances juicy hop sweetness against a soft, clean finish, making for an incredibly approachable yet deeply aromatic sensory experience.
Appearance. Pours a deep straw to light yellow-gold with a luminous, opaque haze that imparts a brilliant shine. Capped by a thick, rocky, meringue-like white head that displays excellent retention and leaves dense, beautiful lacing on the glass.
Aroma. Intense, highly aromatic bursts of fresh strawberry, passionfruit, and underlying mango from the hops, beautifully complemented by prominent peach and apricot yeast esters. A low, clean, bready and oat-like malt sweetness sits in the background, entirely free of caramel, toast, or diacetyl.
Taste. A juicy wave of sweet strawberry, ripe peach, and tropical melon dominates the palate. The malt presence is low but supportive, offering a soft, bready, oat-like graininess. Bitterness is low to medium-low, softly integrated and never harsh. Finishes off-dry and exceptionally smooth, with a lingering, juicy fruit aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full, pillowy, and round body. Carbonation is moderate. Displays a remarkably smooth, velvety texture from the oats with no astringency, hop burn, or raw starchiness, finished with a very gentle, clean alcohol warmth.
