Boundary Export Stout is a rich and decadent interpretation of a Foreign Extra Stout, designed for slow appreciation. A deep, roasted biscuity malt base provides a complex foundation for intense notes of dark chocolate and toasted caramel. Prominent layers of fresh-roasted coffee and subtle liquorice emerge on the palate, complemented by a delicate presence of dried fruit esters. The balance is expertly struck between its substantial 7% ABV warmth and a firm, hop-driven bitterness that keeps the finish moderately dry and clean. Smooth and velvety, this stout showcases the sophisticated interplay of deep char, dark sugar sweetness, and toasted depth.

Appearance. Very deep brown to near-black in color (35 SRM). It features a large, dense tan head with excellent retention and thick lacing. Clarity is obscured by the deep color, appearing opaque.

Aroma. High intensity roast, dominated by dark chocolate and espresso coffee. Secondary notes of molasses, black liquorice, and moderate dried fruit esters reminiscent of raisins. Low, clean alcohol presence and minimal earthy hop notes.

Taste. Bold initial impression of toasted grains and bitter chocolate. Mid-palate reveals caramel sweetness and roasted biscuit malt character. Medium-high bitterness balances the rich malt profile. Finishes moderately dry with lingering coffee and light liquorice notes in the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a creamy, smooth texture. Moderate carbonation provides a gentle lift. Noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth without being hot or fusel. No grain-derived astringency.
