Megafauna is a vibrant American Pale Ale that highlights the modern intersection of high-intensity hops and effortless drinkability. The sensory profile is driven by a potent combination of Luminosa and Citra Cryo, which deliver concentrated bursts of passionfruit, white peach, and zesty tangerine. These tropical layers are balanced by a lean, crackery malt backbone that keeps the focus squarely on the fresh hop character. At a sessionable 4.5% ABV, it offers a crisp, clean fermentation profile and a refreshing, dry finish, perfectly capturing the bright and aromatic essence of a contemporary pale ale while maintaining classic structural balance.
Appearance. Pours a brilliant pale gold (approx. 5 SRM) with a moderately large, frothy white head that shows good retention and leaves light lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by fresh tropical fruit notes of mango and passionfruit from the Luminosa, alongside a sharp grapefruit and lime citrus punch from the Citra Cryo. Malt is low and neutral with a slight grainy-sweetness. Fermentation is clean with no significant esters.
Taste. Leading with an immediate impression of tropical stone fruit and citrus zest. The hop flavor is prominent, supported by a low, neutral bready malt profile. Bitterness is moderate but firm, providing enough structure to balance the fruitiness. The finish is dry and clean with a lingering, pleasant citrus-oil aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with moderate to high carbonation, resulting in a crisp and lively sensation. Smooth overall with no alcohol warmth or hop-derived astringency.
