Interdiction Field is a decadent Imperial Stout that captures the essence of a peanut butter and chocolate chunk cookie. This collaboration between Bottle Logic and J. Wakefield presents an opaque, jet-black pour with a viscous texture. The sensory experience is dominated by an intense bouquet of roasted peanuts and rich cacao nibs, supported by a year of bourbon barrel aging that imparts deep notes of vanilla and charred oak. A specialized malt bill provides a foundation of caramelized brown sugar and toasted bread, while the addition of lactose creates a creamy, indulgent mouthfeel. The high alcohol content delivers a smooth, integrated warmth that lingers alongside a persistent, sweet finish of fudge and nut butter.
Appearance. Jet black (SRM 40+). Opaque and thick. Deep tan head with low retention and oily lacing; visible legs on the glass indicate high alcohol and viscosity.
Aroma. High intensity. Dominant roasted peanut and bittersweet dark chocolate cocoa. Rich bourbon influence with vanilla, oak, and light caramel. Sweet malt character reminiscent of molasses and brown sugar. Low dark fruit esters of prune and fig. No hop aroma.
