This Imperial-strength American Porter offers a decadent sensory journey, blending the robust, roasted foundation of a classic dark ale with festive winter layers. Deep chocolate and espresso malt notes are immediately met by the woody, earthy sweetness of maple syrup and the pillowy, vanilla-laced character of marshmallows. A bright, zesty counterpoint emerges from the infusion of orange, cutting through the rich, dark grain bill. Despite its high strength, the beer remains smooth, finishing with a lingering harmony of citrus peel, charred sugar, and a comforting, velvety warmth that defines its bold, seasonal character and indulgent profile.

Appearance. Very dark brown to near black (38 SRM) with deep garnet highlights. Pours with a thick, creamy, tan-colored head with excellent retention and moderate lacing. Clear where light penetrates the edges.

Aroma. High intensity with a complex blend of dark chocolate, roasted coffee, and rich maple syrup. Distinct notes of vanilla and marshmallow-like sweetness are layered with a bright, zesty orange citrus character. Low earthy hop aroma and moderate dark fruit esters are present.

Taste. Initial impression is a wave of bittersweet chocolate and maple sweetness. The flavor evolves into a moderately strong roasted malt profile of cocoa and lightly burnt toast, balanced by a creamy marshmallow character and tangy orange peel. Bitterness is firm but rounded, finishing medium-sweet with a lingering citrus and charred grain aftertaste.
