Head In the Clouds presents as a quintessentially lush Hazy IPA, defined by a massive dry-hop profile featuring Citra, Amarillo, and Simcoe. On the nose, intense waves of juicy tropical fruits and plump, ripe apricots dominate, supported by a clean, bready malt backdrop. The palate follows suit, delivering a concentrated stone fruit essence and citrus zest, balanced by a restrained, soft bitterness that avoids any harshness. Its appearance is striking, boasting a dense, glowing haze and a creamy, meringue-like head. At 7.2% ABV, a subtle, well-integrated warmth enhances the medium-full, velvety body, leading to an incredibly smooth, fruit-laden finish.
Appearance. Light amber to straw color (SRM 4-6) with a dense, opaque haze. Features a thick, rocky, meringue-like white head with high retention and beautiful lacing.
Aroma. High-intensity hop aroma featuring dominant stone fruit (apricot) and tropical notes of mango and passion fruit. Simcoe provides a light citrus and pine undercurrent. Malt is neutral and grainy with no toast or caramel.
Taste. High fruity hop flavor mirroring the aroma with ripe apricot and tropical juice. Low to medium-high bitterness that is soft and well-integrated. Neutral fermentation character supports a fruit-forward, off-dry finish without any hop harshness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, soft texture. Moderate carbonation with no astringency. A light, pleasant alcohol warmth is noticeable but well-integrated.
