Boga Neguko
Boga Neguko is a soul-warming Belgian Dubbel designed to evoke the comfort of a winter hearth. It presents a deep reddish-copper hue topped with a dense, creamy head. The sensory profile is anchored by a rich, complex malt presence, delivering evocative notes of caramelized sugar and toasted bread. These malty layers are beautifully interlaced with pronounced dark fruit esters—specifically raisins and plums—and a subtle touch of peppery yeast phenols. At 7% ABV, it provides a gentle, well-integrated warmth that enhances the medium-full body, while the high carbonation ensures the malty richness concludes with a clean, moderately dry finish.
Appearance. Dark copper to deep reddish-amber with excellent clarity. It features a large, dense, and long-lasting creamy off-white head that leaves consistent lacing.
Aroma. Moderately strong intensity featuring rich malty notes of toast and caramelized sugar with a hint of chocolate. Significant dark fruit esters of raisin and plum are present, supported by low peppery phenols and a faint, spicy hop character.
Taste. Initial malt-rich flavors of caramel and toasted bread lead into a complex mid-palate of dried fruits and light pome fruit. Low bitterness allows the malt to dominate the balance, though the presence of spicy phenols and high carbonation prevents it from being cloying. The finish is moderately dry with a lingering malty-sweet and fruity aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Smooth, medium-full body with a velvety texture. Medium-high carbonation provides a lively, tongue-scrubbing sensation. Low, soft alcohol warmth is noticeable but never solventy.
