This American IPA presents a modern, crispy profile driven by the innovative Kohia Nelson hop blend from Freestyle Hops. Intense aromatic layers of Nelson Sauvin and Rakau deliver distinct notes of crushed gooseberry, white grape, and stone fruit, amplified by the addition of fresh dehydrated passionfruit. A lean base of pale malt and flaked corn ensures a light, translucent body that allows the vibrant hop character to take center stage. Fermented with a clean lager yeast, the finish is exceptionally dry and snappy, showcasing a bright bitterness that lingers with tropical clarity and a refreshingly lean, effervescent mouthfeel.
Appearance. Medium gold (6 SRM) with a brilliant clarity. Renders a medium-sized, bright white head with good persistence and light, soapy lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent passionfruit, white grape, and gooseberry. Low grainy-sweet malt presence with a very clean fermentation profile, devoid of yeast-derived esters.
Taste. High hop flavor of tropical fruit, peach, and citrus. Low, clean, grainy-sweet malt flavor from the flaked corn and pale malt base. Medium-high bitterness that is firm but clean. Very dry finish with a lingering hoppy and crisp aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, crisp texture. Medium-high carbonation provides a lively sting. Alcohol warmth is very light and well-integrated; no astringency.
